Flexible Respite Options
Flexible Respite is a project which provides respite for children, young people and adults with a disability (aged 0 to 64)
People with all levels of needs are eligible for this individual service
Respite Care provides a break from the responsibilities of caring for someone else.
It is a way of relieving the stress of being a carer. It may be a few hours, a day, overnight or longer.
Coastlink can provide:
· Respite can be 1:1 if required or in small groups. 1 client to 1 worker support is provided to those people who are unable to be cared for in small groups.
· Service can vary from a few hours weekly or fortnightly or overnight or longer monthly or quarterly.
· We provide age appropriate activities for younger people with disabilities on weekends so they have a great time with friends while family members get a break.
How does it work?
Respite is allocated annually through the Central Coast Respite Allocation Panel consisting of other local respite providers and the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care.
Families receive an allocation of hours per month to use. A minimum of two hours care per service is required. The respite is flexible, enabling families to use their respite hours whenever they need.
